Srdjan Mićić – Visual Artist, Educator, Researcher

Srdjan Mićić is a distinguished visual artist, educator, and researcher with extensive academic and professional experience in the fields of printmaking, painting, illustration, and conceptual art. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Visual Arts from the National Academy of Art in Sofia, Bulgaria, specializing in Graphic Art, Printmaking, and Painting. His foundational studies began at the National Belarus Academy of Arts in Minsk. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University – Institute for Macedonian Literature in Skopje.

Mićić has actively contributed to the development of artistic education and practice through his teaching roles, primarily at the Faculty of Art and Design, International Balkan University, where he has served as a mentor, advisor, and coordinator for numerous student projects and exhibitions. His mentorship portfolio includes over 30 graduate and postgraduate projects, many of which explore themes of book illustration, character design, conceptual art, and the intersection between traditional media and artificial intelligence.

He has participated in and curated numerous international and national exhibitions, including the Ural Print Triennial (Russia), Bucharest International Print Biennale (Romania), UNI GRAPHICA (Russia), International Graphic Art Festival (Turkey), and CreArt (North Macedonia), showcasing his works globally in institutions such as the Youth Cultural Center Skopje (MKC), Krasnodar Regional Art Museum, National Gallery of Macedonia, and beyond.

His research and writing have been featured in academic journals and exhibition catalogues. His article "Printmaking Matter" was published in the International Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Art and Communication (IJISAC). He has also authored critical texts for cultural institutions, including R/Evolution – From Brush to Artificial Intelligence, and the Ex Libris catalogue.

As an award-winning educator, Mićić has received repeated recognition for his dedication to visual arts education, earning the “Most Successful Visual Art Educator” award at the Youthful Spring Salon (2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025), organized by the National Gallery and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia. His own creative work has been honored with several accolades, including first-place awards in printmaking and ex libris.

Mićić is also an active contributor to artistic research and international collaboration projects, including participation in the International Print Exchange Programme (IPEP) India and A Voice to a Voice initiative at the Graphic Center of Manhattan. His involvement in accreditation and quality assurance in higher education is further supported by his certification from the Agency for Quality in Higher Education of the Republic of North Macedonia.

With a creative vision rooted in traditional graphic techniques and an openness to contemporary media, Srdjan Mićić continues to bridge artistic expression with pedagogy, international dialogue, and research in the visual arts.
