Call for Papers: The International Journal of Art and Design (IJAD)
The International Journal of Art and Design (IJAD) serves as a comprehensive platform for the dissemination of original research, critical reviews, and theoretical perspectives in the fields of art and design. IJAD welcomes contributions from scholars, researchers, educators, practitioners, and professionals worldwide, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and advancing the understanding of various aspects within the realms of art and design.
We invite submissions on a wide range of topics including, but not limited to:
Fine Arts: Exploration of traditional and contemporary fine art practices including painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, and multimedia art. This includes analyses of techniques, themes, cultural contexts, and historical influences.
Visual Communication Design: Examination of graphic design, typography, illustration, branding, advertising, user interface design, and other forms of visual communication. Focus areas include design principles, semiotics, aesthetics, and the impact of design on society.
Industrial and Product Design: Investigation into the design of products, objects, and systems with an emphasis on functionality, usability, ergonomics, sustainability, and innovation. This may encompass studies on materials, manufacturing processes, design methodologies, and consumer behavior.
Fashion Design and Textiles: Exploration of fashion design trends, textile materials, garment construction techniques, fashion history, cultural influences on fashion, sustainable fashion practices, and the intersection of fashion with identity, society, and technology.
Architecture and Interior Design: Analysis of architectural theory, history, urban design, sustainable architecture, building technologies, interior spatial design, environmental psychology, and the relationship between architecture, culture, and society.
Digital and Multimedia Arts: Investigation of digital art, interactive media, virtual reality, augmented reality, animation, game design, digital storytelling, and other emerging forms of digital expression. This includes discussions on digital aesthetics, interactivity, and the integration of technology with art and design practices.
Critical Theory and Art Criticism: Examination of theoretical frameworks, critical methodologies, and philosophical perspectives relevant to the study of art and design. This includes debates on aesthetics, cultural theory, postmodernism, feminism, postcolonialism, and the role of art and design in shaping social, political, and ethical discourses.
Cross-disciplinary Studies: Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research that bridges art and design with other fields such as psychology, sociology, anthropology, semiotics, cognitive science, technology studies, and environmental studies. This may include investigations into collaborative practices, design thinking methodologies, and cross-cultural perspectives.
IJAD is published twice a year. Special thematic issues may also be published periodically to explore specific topics of relevance and interest to the journal's readership.
Submission Guidelines:
Manuscripts should be original and not previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
