woven-tapestry-practice-during-hands-on-and-experiential-learning-processes 2026 3 This paper presents a practice-based research investigation into collaborative tapestry-making as a pedagogical approach within fashion
design education. The research is grounded in the project Threads of Care, a large-scale woven textile developed through the collective efforts
of students, educators, and local artisans. This research draws from Kolb’s experiential learning theory as the framework and explores in
greater depth the effect of practical and hands-on learning methods on students’ interest, skill development and knowledge acquisition of
sustainable craft practices. Data were collected through observation, reflective documentation, participant interaction, and analysis of material
outcomes. According to the results, collaborative textile-making brings about increased awareness of the material, involvement on a
